You can’t know why the AI does what it does until you understand how the LLM was trained and where its data came from. Wikipedia, where anyone can write and edit an entry, is a major data source. It’s estimated that Wikipedia makes up between 3%-5% of the scraped data used to train off-the-shelf LLMs.

But now, most large LLMs use Reddit’s content to train their models, and Reddit wants to capture some of that value. On top comes that their data is used to train LLMs. Bringing it all together The reason for Reddit’s aggressive API price hike is AI.

Been Caught Stealing Let’s start with content creation and copyright issues. Having clear language on blogs and websites puts the public on notice about your position vis a vis copyright. In other words put a copyright, all rights reserved on your content or the bottom of your blog. You have to train employees too.
