What Makes QlikTech So Good?

Customer Experience Matrix

To carry on a bit with yesterday’s topic— QlikTech fascinates me on two levels: first, because it is such a powerful technology, and second because it’s a real-time case study in how a superior technology penetrates an established market. The general topic of diffusion of innovation has always intrigued me, and it would be fun to map QlikView against the usual models (hype curve, chasm crossing, tipping point, etc.) in a future post. Perhaps I shall. But I think it’s important to first explain exactly just what makes QlikView so good. What they barely do is discuss the technology itself.

7 Things I Didn’t Get Out of SMX Social Media and 2 Important Things That I Did

KoMarketing Associates

Heading from NYC last night, I started thinking about what I would tell the rest of my colleagues as it relates to how and what was learned from SMX Social Media. Well here are some things that didn’t happen : I still don’t feel comfortable adding Danny Sullivan or Neil Patel to my Facebook network. No one gave me the social media “quick fix” idea that I thought would be worth risking my profile or IP getting banned in respective communities. In fact, I didn’t hear anyone contradict the notion that it takes real time and effort to be successful in social media.

Embargoes – Valid in the Brave New World of PR?

PR Meets Marketing

Recently, I saw CenterNetworks tweet about broken embargoes and Allen wrote a follow up post about his views on embargoes. This raises an interesting question about whether or not embargoes are still valid in this new world of instantaneous news and the desire to scoop your fellow bloggers and traditional media.  . The saving grace? In the end, I believe embargoes are still valid. del.icio.us

Botti's rendition , Cohen's )The next, without a doubt, was his drummer's solo. Billy Kilson is amazing.

B2B Lead management is far from an easy task

B2B Lead Generation Blog

Companies that adopt effective lead management processes generate more revenue from their lead generation investment and have overall higher close rates on marketing generated leads than those that do not. But I've encountered very few companies that really do lead management. What is lead management? Lead management is a multistage process that manages the conversion of sales leads to customers.

Eventricity Lets Banks Buy, Not Build, Event-Based Marketing Systems

Customer Experience Matrix

As you may recall from my posts on Unica and SAS , event-based marketing (also called behavior identification) seems to be gaining traction at long last. By coincidence, I recently found some notes I made two years about a UK-based firm named eventricity Ltd. This led to a long conversation with eventricity founder Mark Holtom, who turned out to be an industry veteran with background at NCR/Teradata and AIMS Software, where he worked on several of the pioneering projects in the field. But those are all part of a larger product line, while eventricity offers event-based software alone.

I have a couple fun things I do on a regular basis. Things that make me feel good because I'm making others feel good or learn something new. love sharing knowledge and good fortune.
