We came across this fantastic infographic from the Curalate blog  that discusses how brand can drive engagement using visual content and images – “marketing without words” if you will. While the infographic focused solely on a data set from Pinterest, many of these observations can be (directionally) applied to other social platforms as well. In particular: Lightness of your photograph. Ever notice your eyes scan over dimly photos on Facebook? Aspect ration, especially on platforms where the image is constrained by certain, pre-determined fields.

According to Neilsen a quarter of the time we spend on the internet is on blogs or other kinds of social media. 40% of these people using social media are accessing it through their cell phones. Study: How Much of Your Content Marketing Is Effective?

745 marketers told us how effective their content marketing is. Between November 5 and November 17, we surveyed 601 marketers with an 18-question online survey. A few weeks later, Adweek sent the questionnaire to 144 additional marketers. As the survey was answered by nearly our entire population target, the calculated margin of error was approximately 1 percent. Here's what we learned.
