They get the idea that social media is important, and that relying on traditional media channels (including email and websites) to promote their ideas is no longer enough. As such, they're beginning to slice and dice thought leadership content into blog posts, tweets, videos, and the like -- and use Twitter , LinkedIn , Facebook , YouTube , SlideShare and other platforms to promote that content as widely as possible in the social sphere. As B2B marketers invest more money and time in both thought leadership and social media, they risk missing a great deal of potential benefit they can achieve by bringing the two together in a holistic way.

As far as the rest of the percentages in the survey I can say I go much heavier on things like webinars and flash demos (which I am counting under corporate website spend).

After talking with him - and asking lots of questions about his industry - I asked, "Have you tried LinkedIn?" What would I get from LinkedIn?" quot; For those of you who think LinkedIn is simply a place to post your resume when you need a job or to half-heartedly build a "network," it's time to revisit LinkedIn. We're pleased to present this post by guest author, Dianna Huff , who offers practical advice on how to find out more about -- and better connect with -- your prospects. A client of mine was seriously considering spending thousands of dollars to advertise in an industry trade journal in order to (hopefully) catch the attention of specific people in a very niche industry.

I looked at if the agency had a blog, Twitter profile, Facebook page (both group and/or fan), LinkedIn Group
I searched on the agency’s name or common abbreviation as presented on their website. I used the group search functions found on Facebook and LinkedIn respectively
A lot of PR firms are stating that they have social media capabilities and can help develop your strategy in this arena. So I thought, how many are actually practicing what they’re preaching?

One approach is to track website conversions and use Lead Scoring to assess lead quality.
