With an RSS feed, you can promote in your email footers and it can be re-used by other bloggers and companies. These templates can be copied and reused.

You can now register (which includes uploading an image) to become part of the community which entitles you to create a profile, add friends and leave comments which leads me to the next web 2.0. They also have a section called "Other Voices on the Web" which is an RSS feed of articles from other sites.

Email has many distinct advantages over RSS feed readers with the main advantage is that most people who are iether your customers or your prospects use it.

One approach I'm seeing more and more is to create an RSS feed of your company events and display this as a featured section in an email newsletter.
