PR Meets Marketing

Paul Dunay of Buzz Marketing of Technology forwarded me a link to Southwest's response to the "mini-skirt" controversy. I don't know if this is sincerity or savvy marketing but interesting response nonetheless. What do you think? Tableau Software Makes Good Visualization Easy

Customer Experience Matrix

I took a close look recently at Tableau data visualization software. I liked Tableau a lot, even though it wasn’t quite what I expected. I had thought of it as a way to build aesthetically-correct charts, according to the precepts set down by Edward Tufte and like-minded visualization gurus such as Stephen Few. A previous post here covered average click-through rates for email newsletter advertising, email campaigns and website banner ads. As noted, DoubleClick provides fairly reliable data across those media. It's surprisingly difficult, however, to get meaningful data on the average click-through rate (CTR) for Google AdWords ads.
