What set off this latest skirmish was an article in the Guardian by Roy Greenslade (lately a fecund source of inspiration for B2B Memes ) concerning UK editor and blogger Marc Reeves. Is it really so difficult to honor editorial ethics and pursue business interests at the same time? I’m a big fan. By their nature, they are disruptive.

In an age when transparency is becoming the accepted norm for ethical reporting, is it enough to disclose your potential conflicts of interest only when you think the need arises? As she reports, each of them has included a personal ethics statement on an “about me” page. Personal ethics statements do no harm, and can do much good.
