To be upfront and honest, I have never been an “email marketer,” worked in sales, or have extensively even used emailing as a strategy before link building. At first, it looked like a great way for bloggers and sites to promote their content and hopefully get noticed in the otherwise bland search engine results pages. Compare the two SERP links above, which one would you click on? This means people will be able to influence a sites Page Rank rather than incoming links.

Recently, Google’s head of webspam Matt Cutts said guest blogging is dead , citing its overuse by search marketing companies as part of their link-building activities. For instance, I’ve stopped accepting guest bloggers at my blog altogether unless they’re people I’ve explicitly invited to post.
