You’re busy training all those sales guys and going to conferences. You guys only knew the basics of Salesforce.com. It’s nice that the cold call time is much less now. I initially joined the telemarketing team at a small start-up, doing a hundred outbound cold calls a day. From that position, I migrated to marketing and attended night school, becoming a Chartered Institute of Marketing trained marketer responsible for a mobile product portfolio.

And then you got to train your sales team. But use that material to give back to your sales people to train them, to make them more efficient. The third point here is to take an average of 8 cold call attempts to reach a prospect. My take away there is cold calling really doesn’t work these days.

Way back in September (seems so long ago), I had the opportunity to speak at Salesforce.com's Dreamforce conference (which is now the largest software conference in the world, with over 45,000 registrants). People hate outbound marketing (cold calls, spam, junk mail, etc.) You will not interrupt my train of thought.
