I first met Fowler when he was co-founder of the cloud-based contact management platform Jigsaw which he sold to Salesforce.com for $175 million (now Data.com). Jim: One of my marketers came up to me as we were naming the company, and we were looking at a bunch of different names like Jigsaw. Jigsaw was a great acquisition.

The best lists we've seen for the money are from Jigsaw hands down. You can go the next step too, even with a good Jigsaw list, by doing list validation and cleaning. Collect Them - Yes, definitely, use SEM and SEO to gather the hand raisers, make it part of the mix, but be cautious not to rely too heavily on it.
