Q&A

A big thank you to everyone who chimed in during the webinar with a question! Here’s a recap of our answers to the most popular questions along with some of the questions we didn’t get to during the live webinar. Have any additional questions? Please leave them in the comments.

Are these updates available in legacy Litmus or new Litmus only?

All of these updates are available exclusively in new Litmus. If you’re still using the legacy platform, you’ll need to switch over to access these updates. Here are some handy tips to make the transition a breeze.

Which plans are these updates available on?

The majority of these features are available on all Litmus plans. However, the tracking code improvements are available on Plus plans and higher, and any Proof enhancements are available exclusively on Litmus Enterprise.

Do you have to use Litmus Builder to take advantage of the Design Library?

While we’d love everyone to use Builder to create their emails, we know that’s not the case. Even if you don’t use Litmus Builder to code your emails, Design Library gives you a place to store reusable assets, like templates, so there is a single source of truth for your entire team, regardless of where they choose to build. And if you switch ESPs, you can rest assured all of your resources are up-to-date in Litmus.

Are the templates, partials, and snippets shared with all users on an account?

Yes! They are available and accessible to everyone on your Litmus account.

How would someone leverage the templates in Litmus when using an ESP that also provides templates?

If you’re a fan of the templates in your marketing automation platform, you can add those into Litmus and edit them there, making them accessible to everyone on your Litmus account. This is helpful if you have numerous ESPs or switch ESPs.

You can edit the template’s content in Litmus Builder and then either sync your code directly to your ESP if you’re using one of the ESPs we support, or you can paste it from Builder into your ESP.

Do you provide any pre-built templates in Design Library?

In this first iteration, we don’t have any canned templates in the Design Library. However, we have a variety of free templates available in Litmus Community.

Is there a way to transfer all of my legacy emails into new Litmus?

You bet! Legacy Email Analytics and Spam Tests are automatically in the new Litmus by default, but you’ll need to transfer legacy Builder, Checklist, and Proof projects.

When you add the tracking pixel to your email in Litmus Builder, does it automatically connect to the Email Analytics tab?

It does! Here’s a handy video overview of how this works.

Can I share a template I created with another user?

Any templates you create will automatically be accessible by all users on your Litmus account. If you’d like to share a specific template, follow these steps:

  1. Locate the template in Design Library
  2. Click on “Edit Template.” This will open the template in Litmus Builder.
  3. You can then use the “Share” option in the top right corner of your screen to share the template via public URL, email, or embed. You can also copy the URL from your browser.
