Walker Sands Strengthens PR Leadership With New Elevations

Our public relations team is an integral part of our operations at Walker Sands. As we’ve grown from a PR and digital marketing firm into a fully integrated marketing agency, several of our PR leaders have played an important role in guiding our teams to execute exceptional programs for our clients. 

I am excited to announce the elevation of three of these leaders — Bobby Chilver to Senior Vice President of Public Relations, Brian Jaeger to Vice President of Public Relations and Sam Powers to Vice President of Public Relations. 


Each of these leaders has provided strategic oversight to some of the PR department’s largest clients. Their expertise and guidance has led to the development of strong teams that produce innovative, award-winning work, recognized this year by the PRSA Summit Awards, PRSA Skyline Awards and PR Club Bell Ringer Awards.

  • Bobby Chilver to Senior Vice President, Public Relations: Bobby has been a mainstay of Walker Sands PR since joining the agency in 2010. With a background in journalism and deep expertise in B2B media relations strategy, Bobby regularly leads award-winning PR programs that support business growth through improved brand awareness, credibility and market recognition. His clients range from growth-stage startups to Fortune 500 companies, and his industry experience includes enterprise technologies and professional services firms working in IT, cloud, SaaS, HR, retail, legal and more. As Senior Vice President of Public Relations, Bobby will continue to drive meaningful results for clients while also creating an inclusive, engaging culture for employees, which includes his leadership of the company kickball team and his role as company trivia host.

  • Brian Jaeger to Vice President, Public Relations: Since joining Walker Sands in April 2020, Brian has helped move key PR department initiatives forward, grown and developed dynamic teams, and has made a positive impact on the department and overall agency culture. With a background in TV news, Brian assisted with the agency’s media training program, and has provided counsel and guidance in creating trust-based relationships with reporters and mining newsworthy angles to earn coverage that aligns with clients’ objectives. He has led agency initiatives like the Team Ambassador program and Innovation Committee, while driving successful PR programs for clients in enterprise tech, healthcare, procurement, SaaS, restaurant tech, and more. As Vice President of Public Relations, Brian will continue to champion client success and invest in mentorship and development of emerging leaders at the agency.

  • Sam Powers to Vice President, Public Relations: In the almost eight years that Sam has been with the agency, she has become a trusted advisor to her clients and has showcased her ability to manage and drive consistent results, particularly across large, complex accounts. During her time at Walker Sands, she has been instrumental in strengthening the agency’s cybersecurity and enterprise software practice areas. With a direct, yet relatable and empathetic leadership style, Sam has formed strong teams, and demonstrates an ability to keep them engaged and motivated as they execute successful programs. As Vice President of Public Relations, she will continue to provide strategic counsel for her clients and drive initiatives that support agency innovation and growth.

Congratulations to Bobby, Brian and Sam on their well-deserved elevations. They have each had an incredible impact on the growth and success of our PR teams, and I am excited to see them continue to develop new talent and produce top-notch work.
