There’s a reason that car salespeople and cold callers have such a slimy reputation. But here’s the thing – these salespeople have earned that reputation through underhand tactics and trying to trick people into buying something they don’t want or need.

Need, want and pain are often used in the same sentence when talking about marketing. I get the impression executives believe the terms are one thing; they’re not. Customers reach for products for different reasons. Need, want, and pain are not interchangeable.
