The Intelligent Business Show, or TIBS, consists of two things: “intelligent businesses” and how to make businesses more intelligent. Check out this week’s episode where Matt discusses the evolution of the ERP system and how it’s helping companies make more intelligent decisions using their data with Epicor’s Steve Murphy.

In order to enable enterprise-wide intelligence, companies need a platform that can support their large sets of data. It turns out that Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions are perfectly positioned to fit this need. They’re becoming more of a frontline tool that many companies are utilizing for their predictive abilities and augmented intelligence.

This Week’s Guest:

“[ERP solutions] are helping employees make better decisions and look smarter by pushing a piece of valuable information. It’s not giving them something they don’t need, it’s giving them something that would be of use”

Steve Murphy is currently the CEO of Epicor, a global leader providing flexible, industry-specific software designed around the needs of manufacturing, distribution, retail and service industry customers. Steve specializes in deep domain expertise in solution selling, revenue generation, supply chain strategy and operations. His career spans more than 20 years in the technology sector including sales and operations leadership positions at OpenText, Oracle, Sun Microsystems and Manugistics, as well as manufacturing and distribution experience leading global logistics, supply chain strategy and major enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations with Accenture and Procter & Gamble. Steve holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.

Each week on Aberdeen’s The Intelligent Business Show (TIBS) podcast, Principal Analyst, Dr. Matthew Grant, discusses intelligent businesses — with the experts behind the proverbial wheel — sharing their stories, experience, wisdom, and expertise with folks whose organizations aren’t quite as paradigm shifting. By “intelligent businesses,” we mean businesses that use data and advanced data capabilities to improve everything from customer acquisition, product development and service delivery, to internal operations and employee retention.
