As we kick off the new year, I am excited to announce that Walker Sands has been named a Built In 2023 Best Place to Work in both Seattle and Atlanta.

This is the second year in a row that Walker Sands Seattle has been included on Built In’s Best Midsize Companies to Work list. Walker Sands Atlanta was also named a Best Midsize Company to Work For this year, as well as a Best Place to Work in Atlanta.

Built In’s Best Places to Work awards recognize companies that demonstrate a strong commitment to their employees by providing outstanding benefits and programs, while also cultivating a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace environment. We’re proud of the people-first culture we’ve fostered in Seattle and Atlanta, and it’s an honor to have that culture recognized among this year’s winners.

An integral part of empowering our people involves giving team members the flexibility they need to do their best work. With our hybrid work policy, everyone at Walker Sands has the option to work from home, and some employees even elect to work fully remote. We focus on providing all employees with the tools they need to collaborate with team members across geographies and time zones. And we believe that work-life balance is essential, which is why we have policies like flexible PTO and a generous paid parental leave program that ensure our teams don’t miss out on life’s important moments.

Our internal events and programs connect Walker Sandsians across the country. From annual baseball game outings, holiday parties, and in-person department meetings to virtual trivia games, book club meetings, and virtual panels and trainings, we enjoy ample opportunities to connect with one another, both in-person and virtually.  We’re committed to bringing our people together no matter where they are, so there’s never a missed opportunity to find the fun.

Our commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion at Walker Sands is also instrumental in providing an environment where people can bring their whole selves to the agency. Our five active employee resource groups (ERGs) —  Walker Pride, Walker People of Color, Walker Women, Walker Parents and Walker Disability (mental + physical) — build community among group members, provide opportunities for personalized learning, and educate employees across the agency on relevant topics through engaging events and programming.

At the end of the day, these awards would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of our teams who have helped us build such a rewarding agency culture. Thank you to our incredible team members and leadership for continuing to make Walker Sands a best place to work in Seattle and Atlanta.
