What Are the Busiest Times on a Staffing Website

Share this:

After the month of September, I did some digging into the busiest times on a staffing website. With some custom reports in Google Analytics, we’re able to break down the website traffic by day and hour. Having those reports from the September website traffic for 23 staffing websites, I took a look at overall traffic and Job Board traffic.

The Busiest Time on a Staffing Website…

Tuesday morning at 11 a.m.

That hour had 11 percent more traffic than second place (Tuesday at 10 a.m.). In fact, Tuesday and Wednesday morning were the busiest times of the week for website traffic on staffing websites.

Let’s pull out a few more trends:

  • The 27 busiest hours came between Monday and Thursday and all were between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Not much went on between Friday at 6 p.m. and Monday at 5 a.m. (shocking, I know)
  • Traffic starts to pick up at 6 a.m. on Monday through Thursday. It would tail off around 5 p.m. on Monday and Thursday and stay strong until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Takeaway: Prepare your staffing website to have fresh content at the start of the week but especially before Tuesday morning. That fresh content should definitely include new job postings.

Days of the Week

A couple of patterns showed up when looking at website traffic by day of the week:

WeeklyWebsiteTraffic

Mondays are very similar to Thursdays and Tuesdays are similar to Wednesdays. And a lot of people are already starting the weekend on Friday. Can you blame them?

The Takeaway: On Friday, follow-up on leads from the first four days of the week or if you don’t think anyone is around on Friday, then create a plan of attack for the start of the next week when people are refreshed from the weekend.

Modifying for Your Staffing Company

These trends will be similar for your company but they probably won’t be exact. It’s a great guideline to start but make adjustments based on when you see the highest amount of inbound leads.

Take this data and compare it to your own staffing and recruiting firm – Think about when your inbox gets the most e-mails. Consider when your phone won’t stop ringing. Make continual adjustments to improve and be more efficient!
