In my days overseeing a large editorial group for a B2B publisher, my counterpart in sales was fond of telling me that advertisers found our editors arrogant. It’s a perception that most editors learn to accept as the price of doing their jobs well. They weren’t, and he knew it. This sometimes made them look like jerks.

So, you might ask, if I’m not in it for the money, why, instead of giving it away, am I selling it (for the bargain price, I might add, of $2.99)? Multiple sales and distribution channels might be overkill. What you lose in potential sales and exposure—probably not much—you’ll gain back many times over in simplicity.
