Only time will tell whether Google+ will complement or compete with Linkedin, Facebook, and Twitter. It’s been barely one month since Google launched a social network, and already 20 million people have joined Google+. Google+ is outpacing Facebook and Twitter by leaps and bounds. To put that number in perspective, it took Twitter and Facebook nearly three years to reach 20 million users. Despite the huge numbers, Google+ remains invitation-only. Which became evidently clear today as I was browsing LinkedIn. LinkedIn proclaims to have “50 million+ members in their professional network” which encourages users to “manage (their) professional identity.” ” The thing is, looking at many of the photos on LinkedIn, I am not certain some folks are doing that.
