3 New Promotional Product Campaign Ideas for Your B2B Marketing

by Jennifer Beever

Selfie 2bAre you wondering if promotional products or giveaways make a difference? Here are three thoughtful promotional campaign ideas to make your marketing stand out.

Last week Flora Taub, my friend and promotional products rep for Geiger in Southern California, sent me an email with a fun new idea – selfie sticks! This is something new that probably many people have noticed but just haven’t gotten around to buying for themselves. I got to thinking about fun campaigns using new promo products and wanted to share some ideas for B2B marketers. (By the way, Geiger is headquartered in my home state of Maine, and they provide great products and service.)

3 New Promotional Campaign Ideas

1. Selfie stick video or photo social media campaign.

Geiger Hollywood Selfie PoleDo you need to beef up your engagement on your social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram or Pinterest? Get some customer-produced video testimonials about your products or services? Consider sending key customers a selfie stick with a note asking them to record photos of their employees using your product or service or a video testimonial for your company and to enjoy it for their own personal use. Brand the selfie stick so that every time they use it, they think of you.

2. Speaker or player to listen to your audio or video recording.

Send a bluetooth speaker with your logo and audio file and ask your prospects to listen to the recording, then enjoy the speaker for their own use. Or, send a branded media stand for them to use while watching your video or even a video player itself, preloaded with your video. It’s expensive, but it’s a great way to get prospects’ attention and cut through the noise of the competition.

3. A seasonal (or all season) safety item showing your concern for their well-being.

An emergency car escape tool with a hammer for tempered window glass and a cutter for the seat belt is another item many have heard about but may not have purchased. With your logo and a note stating that you care, the gift is both thoughtful and useful.

There are many more promotional items that you can send to prospects, customers, employees and partners that are thoughtful, useful and creative. Everyday office items (a nice pen, note pads), travel items sent before a conference or event, and sports or picnic items prior to a local or national championship game or the 4th of July are all useful, thoughtful and often creative.

If you have a favorite promotional item idea, please share it below.
