In my research, I’ve never seen anyone claim that marketing contributes anywhere near 50% of the leads that turn into sales. Now, you could argue that if marketers improved their ability to generate, nurture, and manage leads from start to finish that those numbers would improve. Agree on a realistic level of contribution.

We are trying to generate demand during this stage, not create leads, because these people aren’t ready to become leads. We have to generate demand before we can generate a lead.
