A few other random thoughts: PLEs provide contextually appropriate toolsets by enabling individuals to adjust and select options based on their needs and circumstance - resulting in (ideally) a model where needs, not technology, drives the learning process. At this stage, PLEs are about trying to name an emergent process. Pageflakes.
