PowerViews LIVE | Thought Leadership Matters

On Tuesday, March 31, 2015, Gini Dietrich and Anthony Iannarino joined me on PowerViews LIVE for a value-packed discussion on Why Thought Leadership Matters: What it Takes to be a Sales & Marketing Opinion Leader. It was a great opportunity to go behind the scenes with two tried-and-true opinion leaders and benefit from their wealth of knowledge and experience. Here are some of the key points and quotes from our conversation:

  • “Never try to be a thought leader. There is no value in that. Instead, try to add value.” — Chris Brogan.

  • Thought leaders share their “secret sauce.” You can’t be a thought leader unless you’re giving away your content.

  • Don’t be afraid to fail. Thought leaders leverage failure and make it work to their advantage.

  • Share the good, bad and the ugly! Be transparent. Those who only share the good are perceived as untrustworthy.

  • Change the perception of HOW we market and communicate. We don’t have to lie, cheat, or distort the truth to win.

We enjoyed a rich conversation delving deeper into these topics, as well as more practical issues such as time investment and “thought leadership by walking around”— the concept of building leadership internally before extending it outwardly.

These are just the highlights. Don’t miss the chance to get the full scoop. Watch the webinar here!
