MARKETING INTERACTIONS OCTOBER 18, 2011 Are B2B Salespeople Thought Leaders? I was reading Opportunity Nurturing: Sending Stuff Isn't Always the Best Solution over on the Openview Blog where Devon McDonald interviewed Trish Bertuzzi , from The Bridge Group Inc. Trish really GETS IT, so I stop whenver I see her mentioned anywhere to see what she has to say. In response to the question: Who should be sending nurturing content, marketing or sales? Trish said: "It depends on how far along you are in the sales process. If you are intermediate, then marketing should be coming into play. The future of digital media is social. With the far-reaching tentacles of Google and Facebook, no digital marketer will be able to approach marketing without engaging in some form of social media. Today, companies can choose to ignore social media. Although they cannot stop the conversation, they can ignore the conversation that is happening elsewhere. In the future, social media will be harder to ignore. Marketers will lose even more control than they already have. | | | | | | | | | -
BIZNOLOGY | TUESDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2011 Inbound Marketing the Way God Intended Image via Wikipedia. Last week I asked my management team if what we do at Abraham Harrison is inbound marketing. Sara Wilson, my COO, told me yes, that our digital PR strategy of identifying thousands of topical blogs and then pitching them on behalf of our clients with the goal of securing hundreds of earned media mentions is surely the definition of inbound marketing–and maybe even the way that God intended. Or at least the deities who wrote the Cluetrain Manifesto , where markets are conversations. Earned media is hard. It must be just short of impossible. Let me explain. Full stop. MORE >> -
