APRIL 23, 2013 Blogger outreach is more PR than social media
If we do everything right, we’ll generally earn a couple-hundred earned media mentions directly shared on the bloggers’ blogs, we’ll also earn secondary mentions through Facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon , Pinterest, Tumblr, Google+, digg, and even, if we’re lucky, reddit. My expertise, however, is online community outreach and engagement. And it works. Related articles.

FEBRUARY 5, 2013 Your corporate website needs to become a trap
Finally, if you turn your static News section into blog-like posts, you can easily add social media share and submit buttons, extending these news items from just site-based brags and updates to social media-shareable content that is nearly frictionless to share via Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, reddit, digg, Newsvine, StumbleUpon, or even Tumblr. The next step is to trap them.

AUGUST 14, 2012 The best online reputation defense is a good offense
If you’re a serious businessman who’s business isn’t digital, you’re probably too busy making money to fart around on social media. Social media’s stupid, right? Just baby pictures, workout check-ins, adorable kittens, and the self-indulgent ramblings of under-employed folks too far to either the left or the right to amount to much. So, please beware. knew that digg
and reddit always looked for an illustrative graphics file every time I would submit a link and I knew that Facebook and Twitter would even give me the option of choosing which photo would best define my thousand words — I knew that. I first told you that Pinterest redefined social media from being mostly text to being mostly photos, illustrations, graphics, and infographics. Now, illustrating your content is not just preferable, it’s mandatory. have sort of known this for years, especially since I share like crazy. It is really mesmerizing. I love it. MORE >>
BIZNOLOGY Adventures in Frictionless Sharing
| TUESDAY, JUNE 19, 2012
The framework that Facebook, digg
, reddit, StumbleUpon , and Twitter is based upon, requiring liking, digging, redditing, thumbs-upping, or retweeting, demands way too much commitment from the casual visitor on a daily basis. I have been exploring frictionless sharing for years in the form of auto-tweets, retweets, automatic cross-posting, and attention data. What What is it, you ask? Well, according to Wikipedia , frictionless sharing describes the transparent sharing of resources using social media services. Microsoft, and the #1 data-vacuum, Google. Oh, what a pity. MORE >>

In today's decontextualized world of walls, feeds, RSS , e-mail, diggs
, reddits, Stumbles, tweets, and retweets, you need to attract your potential reader based only on the appeal of your title and nothing else, especially if you're new to blogging and don't happen to be Seth Godin. However, the wholesale online sieves, like Google Search and Digg
, created a different kind of problem, a giant global echo chamber, where we all were becoming collectively dumber. Image by prettyflower via Flickr. by Aaron Kim. This is my final post on the skewed Web. In the early days of Web 2.0 awareness, much was said about the new —now old—Web being all about participation: in the age of User-Generated Content , everybody and their mother became a publisher, leveling the playing field. History now teaches a different lesson, but only to those who will listen. (.) MORE >>
