Most promising technology startups fail because they do not believe their inventions require marketing. They believe the world should beat a path to their door because the benefits of their invention are compelling and obvious to all but fools. And these inventors are often arrogant enough to assume that such "fools" are not worthy of using their product/service - if they can't understand it, they're too stupid to do business with.
