I saw two interesting things recently that have me thinking about security and protecting yourself on Twitter. Not even hours later, a notification on my phone told me that hackers had gotten access to the NFL’s official Twitter account, and tweeted out the erroneous report that Commissioner Roger Gooddell had died. Hijacked Hashtags.

RIP, Fleets

In a recent announcement that mattered to almost no one, Twitter let the world know that it’s shutting down Fleets – its full-screen tweets that expire after 24 hours a la Snapchat. But why – why, oh why – did Twitter and LinkedIn and everyone else feel the need to build out an audio-only feature? And I don’t care that it’s going away.
