I've now started using tools like Wordtracker , Google Adwords Keyword Tool and more to determine what key phrases/keywords are more strategic for what I'm writing.
From a social media perspective, can you tag keywords to your release or submit it to popular ranking sites, such as digg, delicious, reddit and others?
This would include Facebook, Twitter, digg, delicious, reddit I've been in public relations for over 10 years. But it wasn't until I went in-house in late 2005 that I even heard these three letters: S - E - O.

Keyword / Key Phrase Development: look at multiple sources—your existing site content, competitors’ websites, industry trade publications, relevant blogs, and the keyword suggestion tool in Google AdWords—to develop your long list of key word and phrases to use in your SEM campaign. Write at least two different ads that point to the same landing page, then in Google AdWords and Yahoo Sponsored Search, turn on ad optimization so that your more effective ads are being shown more frequently. Search engine marketing (SEM) can be a powerful lead generation source, or a complete waste of money.

Facebook ads today remind me of Google AdWords in 2001 with low CPC’s on topics and segments many marketers will want to reach. believe Facebook Ads will become the close “cousin” of Google AdWords – just with a more targeted and behavioral way to dial in your ads. Mark it down people
