Teradata Sells Its Marketing Applications Business for $90 Million

The price is much lower than usual for cloud-based marketing systems. So the $90 million price is about 0.56x revenue ($90/$160). The low price may also reflect a departure of many human assets from the Teradata business in recent years. Teradata reported just under $200 million revenue for marketing applications last year.

Arm Ltd. Buys Treasure Data CDP

The deal was the second big purchase of a Customer Data Platform vendor in a month, following the Salesforce ’s Datorama acquisition. Arm seems a less likely CDP buyer than Salesforce but made clear their goal is to use Treasure Data o manage Internet of Things data.

The only surprise in this deal is the price, rumored to be about $270 million or 3x revenue.
