Just 5% of Americans said they were familiar with Twitter in 2008; by the fall of last year, that figure was 87%, and Twitter is now adding 300,000 new users per day. Facebook added more than 150 million new users in 2010. link on Twitter. Post on Google Buzz. Social media will become targetable.

Also, while I think it’s somewhat less likely that a first-time visitor will tweet or Digg or Stumble your work (I’d love to see a study on that), you should make that process as easy as possible as well. I'll have to check my Google numbers, all that good stuff. How can I help you?

Awareness of Twitter has exploded; 87% of Americans said they were “familiar with” Twitter in a poll taken earlier this year, versus just 5% in 2008 and 26% in 2009.
